Friday Faves v.6

So my two year old, Miles, STILL isn’t sleeping and it’s officially HOT. AS. BALLS. in the Midwest – so needless to say, we’re doing just swimmingly at the Corley house. Alright, my 32.8 seconds of feeling sorry for myself has passed and I’m ready to share my faves from the week – I mean, Miles can’t stay in this little funk forever, right? And in two short months, I’ll get a whole season of my favorite weather. Life is good, friends. Life. Is. Good.

  1. Fixer Upper. As I mentioned, we’ve entered into the dead of summer here in the Midwest. But, it’s already late July so as much as I hate the humidity, I truly can’t complain. For our family, the heat and humidity = hibernation. We’ve been spending a lot of our weekend time whipping up fun snacks, taking advantage of our basement space, making playdoh creations and watching lots of movies/TV! My husband and I recently finished all the series we were watching so decided to keep it light and airy for the summer with Fixer Upper – and how convenient considering how many home improvement projects we have in the pipeline. I’ve heard people obsess over this show for years and I finally see why! I absolutely LOVE Joanna’s design style and the show is surprisingly a lot more entertaining that I expected! If you’re looking for an easy watch, decorating/renovation inspo or ideas of projects to add to your hubby’s to-do list, check this one out!
  2. TJ’s treasure. It wouldn’t be a complete Friday Faves list if I didn’t include a Trader Joe’s find, would it?! Now let me preface with saying that I’ve tried just about every LaCroix {sparkling water} flavor under the sun. I want to like it, I really do. I’ve tried acquiring a taste for it but it’s just not working. I came close with the lemon flavor…but no. Just no. So I was a little reluctant to waste $4 on a Spindrift case of 4 from TJ’s but as I will openly admit, I am a sucker for good marketing and any packaging that catches my eye – so you can imagine how excited I was when I found that I actually LOVED it! I went with the grapefruit flavor {quite a few to choose from!} and it’s so refreshing with actual pulp in it. Yum! So if you’re a fan of flavored sparkling water or simply a LaCroix-lover-wannabe, try this one out! Spindrift-SparklingWater-Trio-1200x720
  3. Native deodorant. OK. This is it, guys. I DID IT! I finally found a non-toxic, paraben-free, aluminum-free deodorant that actually works! I’m so excited that I can finally quit using my husband’s Old Spice that I’m ready to scream it from the mountaintops! It’s been over a year since I started my search for a clean deodorant but have had no luck {Why have I been looking? Check out the chart below!}. This one is in a stick form, doesn’t give you white streaks on your clothes, smells good, goes on smooth, didn’t cause a rash or burning, and actually keeps me smelling fresh all day long! I’m in love. They are available to order online {with free shipping} and have fun scents to choose from. I went with the most popular scent, Coconut & Vanilla, but am excited to try some of the others like Rosé, Apricot & White Peach, and Mimosa! Be sure to use code IGSCENT10 for 10% off your order! Do yourself a favor and try it out – no need to thank me! native
  4. Reusable straws. I recently started a teeth whitening process {I’ll share it on the blog once I decide if I love it!} so I’m taking all precautions to ensure I’m not stunting my results. That means drinking everything through a straw – but that can be so boring and not very environmentally friendly so I tried out these silicone straws and love them! They’re bright-colored, safe for all ages {Eco-friendly, BPA-free & non-toxic} soft enough to bite but durable enough to resist tears, thick enough to fit in the hole in cans {Monster, soda, Spindrift, etc.}, and most importantly: dishwasher safe. OR! If you’re feeling extra boujee, try out these reusable glass straws. They’re BPA-free, lead-free, dishwasher safe and said to be “nearly indestructible.”
  5. Tipps in the Kitch. I started following Lindsay on IG a while back and became obsessed with her feed and blog the moment she posted an IG story with avocado toast with burst tomatoes and pesto. OMG I died. I live for breakfast/brunch foods and following her, I feel like she just gets me! She’s a part-time food blogger, full time Director of Physician Relations at a National Healthcare company out of Dallas and uses lots of fresh ingredients, avocado and a variety of spice in her dishes. Her recipe posts vary from her favorite at-home latte to green chile chicken soup to a 5-minute kale basil pesto sauce to cheesy hash brown egg bites with bacon to Oreo popcorn. Hungry yet? And while a lot of her recipes are healthy, she’s not an intimidating, un-relatable, uber-health-food-only type of food blogger…which I appreciate.

So there you have it! Have a suggestion for a new product I should check out? …maybe one you’re too nervous to try?! I’d love to hear some suggestions below!

Until next time,

NOTE: This is not a paid post. All items listed above are my personal recommendations that were not influenced from an outside party.

  1. Grapefruit is my FAVORITE seltzer flavor and I didn’t know that Spindrift had pulp…so definitely will be buying this on my next TJ’s trip lol. And thanks for the reusable straw link! I’ve been looking for good ones everywhere!
