Friday Faves v.4

Woo hoooo! It’s finally Friday! With the holiday on Tuesday, I felt so screwed up all week – I didn’t know what day it was until I woke up this morning! Luckily, I had some AWESOME finds this week…which, to be honest, is the only thing that got me through – enjoy!

  1. XO Marshmallow. I’ve been SO EXCITED to share this shop with you! Imagine a “whimsical, candy-colored café” and full-service espresso bar featuring  marshmallow treats right in the heart of Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood. The café is owned by two women who launched on Kickstarter and had their brick & mortar Grand Opening this past Saturday! The shop is so cute, their menu is refreshingly unique, and the girl working was as sweet as the “s’macos” {marshmallow tacos} she was serving. I’ve always been a strong supporter of locally owned businesses, but I have to admit that these #bossbabes put a little extra pep in my step with their creativity. It’s so exciting to see fresh ideas hit the market so if you’re in the area, stop in and check them out! A little heads up to mamas – there are three steps going down into the shop so leave the bulky strollers behind! And for those who aren’t local – you can still order online! Be sure to sign-up for their emails to get a 10% off code. XOmarshmallow
  2. Target’s announcement. I’ve been nothing short of obsessed with their new Cat & Jack line of kids’ clothes so when I saw the announcement that Target is phasing out Merona and Mossimo to replace them with 12 {yes, I said TWELVE!} new apparel and décor brands, I rejoiced with a little squeal! …I also envisioned a lot of “Amanda, you really need to watch your spending at Target” talks with my husband in the near future, but that’s not even enough to bring me down off the high from this news! And guess what? Some of the new lines are launching as early as September! This article from the Today Show gives a little sneaky peak into a couple of the lines – check it out and start a countdown to the launch with me! I also can’t leave out that back-to-school supplies and kids’ clothes are 20% off with the Cartwheel app through tomorrow (Saturday) – so get to shopping!
  3. Trader Joe’s treasure. My Friday Faves wouldn’t be complete without at least one food item, right?! This week, I’m obsessed with the TJ’s red lentil noodles. I used this healthy alternative instead of pasta, and was shockingly surprised at how much I loved it! The first time, I used one of the Trader Joe’s pasta sauces and last night, I poured a jar of their bruschetta over the noodles and both ways were delicious! My husband even went as far as requesting this instead of pasta noodles going forward – WHAT?! That’s definitely a win in our house! TJsredlentilpasta
  4. Nordstrom Anniversary Sale guide. It’s coming! It’s coming! Early access to the huge annual sale is less than 6 days away and this chick is telling you everything you need to know to fully prepare for it on her blog! Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? But seriously, we’re talking major markdowns and items selling out within minutes so her tips are GOLD. She even has a session booked with a personal shopper next week to try on hot items to give her followers some insight on how they fit so we know how to order. She owns 3 boutiques and does all the buying for them, so she’s knowledgeable AF. Follow her now, thank me later.
  5. Dream Queens Catchers. Ok, I saved the best for last this week. I am absolutely OB. SESSED. with the latest piece I picked up for Harper’s nursery – a super girly, frilly dream catcher! I met Amy on Instagram, saw her work and it was love at first sight! She has such a creative eye and her work is impeccable. I was a little nervous going into the purchase because I had such a particular vision in mind for the dream catcher and wasn’t sure if she could bring it to fruition {the same nerves I have before any custom order because I’m so f’ing picky!}. Well, she did – and she did it with feathers, sparkle and lace! And she was great to work with which made it a really fun process. Harper is already loving her new dreamy catcher and it’s a piece that will grow with her so she’ll be able to keep it forever – and I love it because it was custom-made for her and unlike any other piece in her room. She has premade catchers available for purchase, but since she offers custom-orders, this is a great, unique gift idea for anyone. Check her out on Etsy and use code INSTA10 for 10% off and free shipping!

I hope you love my faves this week as much as I do! Have a suggestion for a new product I should check out? …maybe one you’re too scared to try?! I’d love to hear from you!

Until next time,
Amanda

NOTE: This is not a paid post. All items listed above are my personal recommendations that were not influenced from an outside party.

    • Thank you! It’s the sweetest addition to her nursery! You have to try the noodles – they are so good! I personally liked it better with the bruschetta sauce but my hubby liked both. Lmk what you think!!

  3. So, I’ve been meaning to try the red lentil pasta. Need to get my bootie to TJs. Also, going to Chicago for work next week, if I talk myself into staying for the weekend I’ll have to check out the marshmallow shop!
